A lot of the problems the maintenance team are called upon to solve are relatively minor and totally insensitive to the real business of keeping a site running. It’s often a sticky door not latching properly or the window that won’t open. It usually “just can’t wait” and is now the most important thing in the world and must be solved yesterday – at all costs. Especially if it’s the direction the air-con is blowing, which is probably worth pressing the big red nuclear button for.
What often happens is these routine repairs have to be rushed and are conducted in a way that undermines the security of said door or window. Or installation of new hardware is performed by a contractor which isn’t up to scratch.

Styx Security doesn’t plan to teach your team how to do their jobs. We show them how we do ours and how we can break in. We show them how hardware is undermined with a poor retrofit and how we capitalise on the wrong strike plate being installed. We show them how we attack access control systems and deadbolts, which locks are easy picking (literally) and which ones need a bit more effort. We can show them how easy common digilocks are to decode, what you get when you pay more and why key safes are usually anything but safe.
Your team will take away with them far more than just a set of “do this, don’t do that” instructions. They’ll have an understanding of the techniques and tactics a criminal or entry team might use and be able to integrate that into their work. They’ll be able to spot when a contractor has installed new hardware poorly and protect the hardware that’s in daily use.
Can’t help you point the air conditioning in the “right” direction though. You’re on your own with that one.
