It’s so easy to do an audit during the day and call it good, but have you considered the safety and lighting of pedestrian routes in and out of your building for the early birds or the late finishers?

Do you audit annually in summer? Have you thought about what the place is like in winter, when people will be coming and going in the dark?

Are there any camera angles you might need to change seasonally due to low sun?

Do previously well lit areas become darkened on the camera due to a bright sun messing with the contrast in summer? Are other areas totally overexposed?

If you’re doing a real security audit, you and your team need to visit late at night. You need audits during different seasons. You need to know and account for the earliest and latest people will be coming and going.
