If I turn up with this, would you spot me on camera? Did you get CCTV because “we should have CCTV” or did you get it for specific risk mitigation?

Is your CCTV monitored with alerts set up or is it there to deter and reconstruct incidents? Is it positioned for identifiable face shots or are you capturing moving bald spots in potato vision? Is it integrated with your alarms and PACS or is it stand alone?

Any of these can be the right answer for a given business.

All I ever ask is that CCTV use is driven by need and risk, not “just because”. A few hours looking at your risk register and considering how CCTV fits in can make a huge difference to efficacy. You’re paying for the system, so get your money’s worth!
